Georgiana Roxanne Savory-Sykes (aka Sal), was born, November 15, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Savory, Jr. and Bernice Weathers Savory, two children, her brothers Frank Savory, III and Robert Savory, sister, Annie Savory, and nephews Marshall Pearson, Richard Sanders, Jr., Kevin and Michael Todd. Georgiana gave her life to Christ at an early age and used her talent and God-given gift to sing old spirituals, other Gospel and jazz music. Georgiana served and sang in the choirs of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church and Graceway Church. Along with her spirituality and passion for singing, Sal enjoyed interior design and learning about the medical field. Sal stood out in the crowd due to her stylish hair and unique dress. She attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri and Riverdale High School in Riverdale, Georgia. Georgiana earned her diploma as a Medical Assistant from Concorde Career College and furthered her education at Wright Career College receiving numerous awards because of her excellent grades. Georgiana obtained diplomas as an Administrative Medical Assistant and in Surgical Technology. With her medical background, she believed that one day she would be used to save the lives of her family members. Prior to her death, she worked with her sister and niece as a Legal Assistant for Savory McClendon, L.L.C. Sal was happy for the opportunity to help build the family business. She was extremely grateful for everything her family did to help her through difficult times, battles with health issues, especially her niece, Cee Cee. Georgiana loved her family. She believed it was her obligation, after the passing of her parents, to take care of her three younger siblings, Matthew, Dorothy and Jermaine. Sal would be remembered by family for squeezing her nieces and nephews cheeks, hugging endlessly, giving them sound advice and the unique names she gave them, such as “Chicken and Baby Chicken”, “Main Now,” “Mayonnaise,” “Chezy Wezy”, “Him”, and “Boom Boomp.” Georgiana’s voice, love of life, her smile and love for her family will forever be missed by her husband, Ronald Sykes, stepchildren Aaron and Alisha, 10 grandchildren; her brothers, Odies Cole, Jr. (Angela), Seymour Cole (Sheandrika), Matthew and Jermaine Savory; her sisters, Odetta, Cecelia and Trina Cole and Dorothy (Savory) McClendon (William); nieces Natalie Booker, Cee Cee Cole, Natosha Barnes, Rosetta Ross, Michelle Broadway, Tia Brown, Sheamore Cole, Sierra Purnell, Zoey Elmer, Sami Neal, Jer’Tyra Savory, Tela Savory and Jasmine Taylor; nephews Samuel Pennington, Jr., Frank Savory, IV, Caleb Savory, Sanchez Todd, Samuel Neal, Jr. and 20 great nieces and nephews. She was grateful for her longtime friends, Tanya Nelson and Frederick “Freddy” Wyatt.
