April 8, 2020 - December 9, 2021
On April 08, 2020, God stopped what he was doing and blessed us with a beautiful baby girl born to John Francis Jr. and Chasity Newton. We named her Miss Miracle Skye Francis. Miracle was born a fighter and she fought hard she was in the NICU for the first year of her life, so the name Miracle fit her to a “T”! All the doctors and nurses loved her at Children’s Mercy and looked forward to seeing the happy baby with the beautiful black hair. Miracle experienced many setbacks but each time she bounced back stronger. Miracle was discharged home two days before her 1st birthday. Everyone was overly excited because due to the pandemic this would be their first time meeting her. Miracle adjusted well, she enjoyed playing with her big sisters and would always look for them in the room. Miracle would give them “the look,” when she wanted something right away. She had the biggest personality for a little girl! Miracle spent her days snuggling with mommy, watching Coco-Melon, and making the funniest faces with daddy; staying up late with him. She loved Minnie Mouse and being able to play in her ball pit. Miracle always interacted with her family even though she was non-verbal. She had everyone wrapped around her finger and you had to know she wasn’t a push over! If you did something she didn’t like she would flash a mean look or get mad, it was so cute! She made it clear early on it was Miracle’s World and we were just living in it! Doctors doubted her and told us she wasn’t going to make it at birth, but GOD and Miss Miracle proved them WRONG! She quickly passed her one-year mark and year two was coming fast. Miracle had a tracheostomy because of a disease called Campomelic Dysplasia and she had a feeding tube, but she also loved food and her mommy always made sure she had a taste or two. Miracle had the biggest smile, her laugh was everything and she made a clicking noise, which was one way of her talking. Miracle’s paternal grandfather John Francis., and her paternal great grandfather, Denver Parlor Sr., and her maternal grandparents Jerome and Beatrice Newton have welcomed her into heaven. Left to cherish Miracle’s memory: her father, John Francis Jr., her mother, Chasity Newton, and two sisters: Chloe Newton, and Jamila Barksdale. Her paternal grandparents: Sonia Hill (Carlos) and John Francis (Meka). Her great paternal grandparents: Louise F. Broughton (Anthony) and Sharon Parlor; her great paternal grandfather, James Osler; her maternal grandfather, Stacy Newton and great maternal grandmothers: Joyce Newton and Inez King and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends. Miracle’s family was blessed with her love, strength, and memories throughout her short journey here on earth. God called Miss Miracle to the playground in the sky on 12/8/2021.
