July 15, 1999 - March 11, 2021
Rakia "Rico" "Pumpkin" Roddy left to her eternal home on March 11, 2021, in Murrieta, California. Rakia was born July 15, 1999, in Kansas City, Missouri, and was raised by her mother Ronnesha Roddy. Growing up Pumpkin always was the life of the party, she was the party still to this day. She loved adventures and going on scenic walks outside. She loves to dance, sing and one of the best rappers you'd ever hear. She has a smile from cheek to cheek and a laugh that is contagious to anyone. She has always been smart and generous, always trying to uplift people and show them not to give up when it gets hard. Such a gentle heart that loved being around friends and family. She graduated from school with a construction trade in 2017 and soon after got a job tearing down and rebuilding apartments in the local area. Pumpkin was preceded in death by one of her best friends, Devin Flemmings, and brother, Marcus Clark, Jr. Left to cherish Pumpkin’s memory: her beautiful mother, Ronnesha Roddy; her little sister Raynesha Buchanan; her grandmother, Anette Roddy; her aunts: Katina Roddy and Tasha Clay; her cousins: Tot, Smellyon, Saliyah, Lydasia, MooMoo and NayNay, Marco, Jay and Nicholas; her best friends: Anastasia Todd, Kylee, Shelby McCollum, and Justin Evans. Her father, Marcus Clark; sisters: RaShawnda Clark, Marquiana Clark and Markeba Clark; grandmother, Josephine Clark; aunt, Thelma Shepherd and a host of other loving family and friends. Pumpkin always had an amazing heart supporting everyone she loved with anything they believed in. She has such a high vibration constantly engaging with random people and spreading love anywhere she went. She pushed us to see it through every struggle because it was always "Mind Over Matter." You can call on her when you needed advice or just an open ear even just some good vibes. She was always so courageous and strong never backing down even when the problems were bigger than her. She could make anyone smile and definitely the perfect wingman! She believed in being true to yourself no matter what and never passed judgment. She attracted everybody, she is simply just a beautiful individual inside and out. She left an imprint on anyone's life she met. To Pumpkin "The angels gathered near your side so very close to you, for they knew what you were meant to do. I thought so many things as I held tightly to your hand, how I wished you were strong and happy again. You were looking homeward to the place beyond the sky. Where Jesus greeted you with outreached arms, it was time to say goodbye. I struggled with thoughts I wanted you to stay, so we could talk and laugh like yesterday. But Jesus knew the answer and I know you love him, so, you were given the gift to be with him." We love you forever! Until we meet again. To Loved Ones "Those we loved don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Smile through the tears and understand grief is not a sign of weakness. but a sign of love.
